Create Magic Trigger (updated 07/04)

Delay the spell until a certain event occurs.

You can create a spell that will automatically activate based on some specific criteria called a "trigger". For example, you could create a amulet of health that automatically cured disease taken by its bearer, or a charm against falling that provided a safe landing. This is most appropriate for charms, but not so much for potions.

Meta-Magic Action

You can take this Meta-Action during the same Turn as another Magic Action to add a "trigger" to your spell. The trigger will delay your spell until a certain event occurs.

Describe the criteria for the trigger and allocate a number of dice to represent its strength. You must roll these dice whenever the trigger criteria are met and gain at least one Success for the trigger to work correctly. Most spells can activate only once, but a failed trigger roll does not waste the spell--you can reroll each time the trigger criteria are met.

Unless you Maintain a Spell Connection the trigger will fade over time. The trigger will lose 1 die per hour.

Successes

The successes are used to determine if the trigger worked.

Drain Cost

This Meta-Action costs no additional Drain.
