Prepare Action (updated 2008/08/03)

Prepare to take an action at the moment a certain event occurs.

Action

Similar to taking another action, you must roleplay what you want to do, except in this case the action hasn't happened yet. Examples:

  • I will flee if a foe approaches
  • I shall stab the first foe who comes within reach
  • I will shoot that sentry if turns around

Similar to taking an another action, you allocate dice, except you don't roll them yet. You can't use those dice for anything else, and you lose any prepared actions when your next turn starts unless you opt to keep waiting and not gain a new Action Pool.

Timing

A prepared action does not guarantee you have the initiative. If your prepared action must interrupt another action then the GM will decide which action has the initiative. You are still eligible to attempt to take the initiative (see Turns - Taking the Initiative.)
