"Great things are afoot." Ambar has recently emerged from the shadows and is experiencing a time of rebirth. This is an age in which artistic, social, scientific, and political have begun to turn in new directions. While future historians will decide upon the official name for our current Age, scholars are heralding it as one of rebirth and triumph. Great things are afoot. Aegis is securely protected by the Sceptre of Light, and the young kingdom of Kitania is reclaiming southern regions long lost to the darkness. The last vestiges of necromancy are being cleansed, and guardian dragons are being restored to the Dragon Isles. Only time will tell whether these changes stir up ancient evils or establish a new reign of prosperity. 803 - Rise of KitaniaThe Harnendorian Empire was sacked by the Goblyn hordes in the year 525, which by all accounts ended its golden age. However, the Harnendorian Emperors cannot admit that they no longer rule the world since the capital of Aquila never fell. The Kitanian region had always been the eastern palaces of the Harnendorian nobility, but in the year 803 Kitania declared its independence from Aquila, with the intent to form a new kingdom and possibly even an empire. The Kitanian nobility is descended from Harnendorian, Alglondor, Rochir, and even Eldarin royalty, and Kitania reflects these diverse origins. Kitania is ruled by the modern-minded Roi Herold, once a famous Harnendorian general. To date, no war has been fought on Kitanian soil, and the Roi is progressively fortifying the borders of his kingdom to keep the peace. The southern marches of Kitania abut the plains of the Rochir horse lords, with whom the Kitanians have made many ties and allegiances to secure the southern border. The Alorns of Alglondor are kin [ more... ] 860 - Si'Anwon KeepAfter his role in the 7th Vampire War, the squire Korim "Pathfinder" was knighted and given title to Si'Anwon, a remote border keep of strategic import to Kitania. Aided by his companions, Korim traveled south to the heart of the "Rochir Plains" to claim his land and begin the reconstruction of the keep. 862 - Kaeden in AvernusAn infestation of Kaeden was discovered in Avernus, the deep sea near Si'Anwon. Several brave heroes were summoned to cleanse the sea--their told as the Purging of Avernus. 864 - Beginnings of the Great Southern Wall (updated 2003/12/22)While dusty, the quarry near Si'Anwon is rapidly becoming a fortified town, with a portion of the "Great Southern Wall" along with a few towers completed. A newly constructed rode of cobbled basalt leads the way to Si'Anwon, busy with ox carts pulling tons of newly cut stone. A large stockade has been built is already full of solders. Like the other buildings, it has black stone walls and a temporary, thatched roof. Heroes flock to his banner to explore and pacify the lands surrounding Si'Anwon. 864 - Scourge of TavikBrave heroes wrested control of Er'Alion Keep from the necromancer Tavik and pursued him through the Sind to the temple of Na'Eslin. This led to the "rediscovery of Er'Alion keep" and the "return of the Shadowlord". 865 - Blue Whinnis Goblyn War (updated 2003/07/02)In the summer of 865, a great battle took place in the heart of the Rochir Plains whereby the forces of Si'Anwon threw back a Goblyn horde. Syr Gwalchmai n'Conal reported the news of victory to Lord Korim. Marching triumphantly to Si'Anwon, the Einhernjar bear this joyful news to Lord Korim, who offers them the thanks of Kitania for wresting this jewel of the Dragon gods from the dark songs of those wretched hags. Once called "Bonesong Hill", this lofty stronghold can now form another cornerstone of the "Great Southern Wall" and take a new name more befitting the holy waters that continually flow from the temple of Suul within. Korim offers rulership of Na'Ututhra to the heroes, who plan to maintain residences and appoint a steward to rule during their frequent absences. Word has been sent to Kitania of this victory and Kitanian forces have been dispatched to repair and defend the fortress. 865 - Redemption of Thoth (updated 2003/10/07)Thoth the twice-cursed has been redeemed, much to his own rejoicing and that of his comrades. It is rare for one who has been given the "Blessing of Kurg" to redeem his mortal soul, and even more rare for one possessed by the Kaeden. However, in this year one man who was doubly cursed won free of darkness. Thoth has taken up the call of the "Earth Mother" Xohm, and wielding an Eldar Songblade that once sought his own blood, banished a Kaeden shadow daemon befouling the temple of Na'Ronatha. 865 - The Battle of Five Armies (updated 2004/03/22)Lanthorn of Dark Souls Shadowlord's Spawn Staff of Alion Five armies are converging on Si'Anwon for an epic war during Nocturne. "Lord Korim" has called for additional reinforcements, and the cavalry of Kitania are riding south to meet him at the "Great Southern Wall". The "Arrowsnake Kithoc" has also been summoned to hew Goblyn necks once more. The other three armies are hostile... [ more... ] |
