The Dwur say that their god looked up on the newly created lands of Ambar with the fondness of a potter viewing unshapen clay, or a smith upon raw ore. There was land, rivers, water, and forests, but the creation lacked detail. The Allfather then Named the places he saw, shaping each mountain, forest, and lake. Seeking to fill the lands, He then Named living things that should dwell there--from the largest animals to the smallest birds and insects.
Each time a new Name was pronounced a new creation took shape, and a new Rune of power was also born. When the Allfather created eagles He also created the rune "eagle". Some of the Runes possessed tremendous power, and the Allfather decided to safeguard them from the Deep Ones who still dwelled in the depths of the Astral Sea. He Named the Dwur and entrusted them with the protection of the Runes and the keeping of their secrets. The Dwur hid the Runes in the highest peaks and created many wards to guard them, and to this day tend to be secretive and untrusting. Through their studies of the Runes the Dwur developed many tools and skills, such as fire, metalworking, stonemasonry, and magic. The Allfather also taught them the arts of war, for He knew some would attempt to take the Runes by force, and foresaw times of strife. He prepared them well.
The Allfather took His own time with his Naming, perhaps to provide time for consideration or perhaps to create each thing in its own time. Notable amongst His later creations were the ancestors of men. The Dwur say He has never ceased the creation and perfection of all things, for this is His nature, and Dwur craftsmen always invoke the Allfather when undertaking great works.
